Our Women's Self-Defense Seminar
Bedford Martial Arts Academy holds FREE Women's Self Defense Seminar throughout the year. Seminars are held at Bedford Martial Arts Academy in Bedford, as well as local schools, colleges and businesses. Women who attend, learn various ways to protect themselves in the event of an attack. Instructors are on hand to provide hands-on training of simple kicks, blocks, wrist lockups and judo throws, all of which are basic moves anyone can do to help avoid becoming a victim.
The basic techniques, kicks and hand strikes, learned at this seminar should be practiced on a regular basis. The more proficient one becomes at using these techniques, the better the chances are of stopping an attack or getting away from an attacker. Statistics clearly show a need for self preservation through a knowledge of crime in this country and the many steps we can take to protect ourselves and our families.
DON'T BE A VICTIM !
Be aware of your surroundings and watch for suspicious activity. Parents are encouraged to become advocates for their children and to teach and reinforce positive values that promote academic excellence and social responsibility. It is extremely important to teach children ways to avoid being victims of violent acts. Stress personal safety, including what to do if anyone tries to hurt them.
